A Prayer About Self-esteem
A prayer about Self-esteem
When I want to become a confident, secure woman
Lord,
Sometimes I feel trapped by my insecurities. I know that thinking more highly of myself than I should is pride, and I want to avoid that. But thinking less of myself than I should is false humility, and that’s not ideal either. In between is self-esteem—an honest appraisal of my own worth based on who I am in you. Your Word makes clear that you value me highly because you love me deeply. Thank you that you are sufficient for me. I have worth because you place value on me and you have created me for a purpose. That makes me a woman of great value. May I believe this in my heart, and may it affect the way I live, freeing me from crippling insecurities and giving me the confidence to do what you have called me to do.
Not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. Matthew 10:29-31
