A Prayer About Rewards

A prayer about Rewards

When God rewards me for serving him

Lord,

You ask me to serve you freely, out of love—and I do! Yet your Word says that you reward those who serve you faithfully. Sometimes these rewards are tangible, material things, but not always. May I be aware of the times when following you has its own reward, such as when my obedience protects me from evil, leads me on the right paths to find more of your blessings, or directs me into service that will please you and help others. These are wonderful rewards. I’m also filled with gratitude when I consider the spiritual prosperity you promise: the gifts of salvation and eternal life; the blessings of a relationship with you; the treasure of your Word; and the wonderful character traits of godliness, truth, wisdom, and a good reputation. I thank you for these lasting, priceless rewards you shower on me when I follow you.

There truly is a reward for those who live for God; surely there is a God who judges justly here on earth. Psalm 58:11
