A Prayer About Renewal
A prayer about Renewal
When I need to start over
Lord,
I disappoint myself so often. I have such high hopes and good intentions, but inevitably I become weary and burned out. Sometimes the cause is a consequence of my bad choices or sinful actions. Other times it’s the burden of everyday living—the simple busyness of work, family, and responsibilities. The messiness of life can leave me feeling exhausted not only physically but in my very soul. I sometimes wish I could just start over. I need your renewal in my life! I’m thankful that you have compassion on me. When my heart is ready for change, you can begin to work. You will restore me, refresh my soul, revive my life, and give me a new beginning. Thank you, Lord!
Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me—now let me rejoice. Don’t keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. Psalm 51:7-12
