A prayer about Plans

When I want my plans to be in line with God’s will

Heavenly Father,

I love to make plans for the future—for myself, my family, my home, my work. You have created me with this desire to be forward thinking and purposeful, yet I must always acknowledge that your plans take precedence over mine. May I be mindful of your revealed plans laid out in the Bible, as well as your specific plan for me. You created me with a unique purpose, but you don’t always make that purpose crystal clear. The truth is, if you were to reveal everything, I might not feel that I needed your guidance anymore. Please give me the courage to walk step-by-step with you in faith, trusting that you will show me just enough of your plan to help me take the next step. Give me the discipline to read your Word and obey it, for that is the best way to discover your plans for me. Teach me to keep my heart turned toward you so that I may be sensitive to your leading. Then I can move forward with confidence, knowing that someday I will look back and see your divine guidance in my life.
