A prayer about Patience

When I’m feeling impatient

Heavenly Father,

So many things in my life make me impatient. Sometimes I get stuck in a traffic jam or have some other unexpected delay. Sometimes I have to wait for a child to mature past a troubled stage, or I have to deal with some other difficult situation that hangs on far longer than I think it should. I want all my problems to be resolved! I recognize these situations as obstacles that frustrate me, but if I have the right perspective, Lord, I can see them as opportunities to grow in patience. Please give me the grace to know when there’s nothing I can do to speed up a situation and the patience to wait for your timing. I trust in the eternal plans you have for me. May the knowledge that my long-range future is settled and secure allow me to be more patient during today’s frustrations.

We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. Colossians 1:11-12
