A prayer about Mercy

When I am aware of God’s mercy in my life

Merciful God,

You shower amazing kindness on me by not treating me as my sins deserve. At times I have ignored you, neglected you, and rebelled against you, yet in your greatest act of mercy you offer me salvation and eternal life! When you forgive me, your mercy sets me free from the power of sin so that I can choose each day to fight my sinful nature. Your mercy has transformed my life, showing me what it feels like to be loved even when I have not loved in return. O Lord, may this great mercy from you cause an outpouring of love in my heart. I want to be an example of your mercy to others today.

The LORD is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. Psalm 103:8-10
