A prayer about Listening

When I want to listen closely to God

Lord God,

I talk to you often, yet I’m not always good at listening for what you would like to say to me. But you are the only source of wisdom; I have so much to learn from you! Help me to find times to be quiet so that I will hear your voice. Give me the self-discipline to remove myself from distractions so that I can hear your gentle whisper in the quietness of my heart. Teach me, Lord, to wait expectantly for you. I know that the more I listen, the more I will hear.
