A prayer about Involvement

When I consider how I can be involved in God’s Kingdom

Dear Lord,

I’m amazed when I realize that you give every believer the opportunity to be involved in your Kingdom work. Your Word is clear about many things that are near to your heart and that I should care about as well: taking care of your creation, caring for the needy, defending and upholding justice, exercising my spiritual gifts for the good of the church, joining in worship and fellowship with other believers, and living as an example to those who do not know Christ. I want to care about the things that are important to you, Lord. It’s easier to stand on the sidelines, but grant me the courage to get involved with things that are important to you. I want to reflect your priorities and your love to those around me. Teach me to be especially sensitive to a tug on my heart that means you are urging me to get involved in a specific task. May I have the privilege of helping others experience your comfort and hope and salvation.

Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows. Isaiah 1:17
