A Prayer About Holiness
A prayer about Holiness
When I wonder how I can live a holy life
Lord God,
You alone are holy, yet you also call me to be holy. To be completely holy is to be sinless, pure, and perfect. I’ll never attain that in this lifetime, but it’s my ultimate goal and, by faith, my final state—one I’ll reach when I stand before you in heaven. I know this is possible only because I’ve been made righteous by Christ, and my heart is full of gratitude for your gracious gift. You call me to be holy, but you provide everything I need to become holy one day! O Lord, I know that being holy also means that you call me to be set apart for a specific purpose. By your grace I am different from the rest of the world, chosen to follow you and do your will. May I be diligent in this calling, making progress each day as I seek to become the woman you have created me to be.
I am writing . . . to you who have been called by God to be his own holy people. He made you holy by means of Christ Jesus, just as he did for all people everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:2
