A prayer about God’S Call

When I reflect on how God pursues a relationship with me

Loving God,

It’s hard for me to comprehend your unconditional love, which pursues me no matter what I’ve done. I see this clearly in your Word. Adam and Eve disobeyed you and rebelled against you, yet the first thing you did was work to restore their relationship with you! They had to experience the consequences of their actions, but you acted with great love and sacrifice to keep the relationship from being severed. I praise you for your love, which is so great I can’t even comprehend it. You never give up on me when I do what is wrong or even when I reject you. Instead, you pursue me for the purpose of forgiving my sin and restoring me. Teach me always to be sensitive to your Holy Spirit, who convicts me when I have sinned and leads me back to you. May I also be diligent about reading your Word, which calls me to confession and repentance. Lord, your faithful pursuit is a beautiful call to friendship with me. I pray that I will always respond to it.
