A prayer about Guidance

When I want to know the details of God’s plan for my life

Father God,

I want to experience your guidance, and I know a big part of that is learning to trust you. That means trusting your directions, even when I can’t see the destination. I don’t know what you have in store for me, but maybe that’s for the best. If I could see too much of my future, I might become afraid of the hard times ahead or overconfident about my accomplishments. I might be tempted to stop trusting your wisdom for my life. Instead of revealing everything, your guidance is like a flashlight that lights up just enough of the path ahead to show me where to take the next few steps. You reveal your plan in your own time, unfolding the joys and sorrows of life in doses I can handle. Lord, I can see from the circumstances around me that you have a plan for me and that you have my best interests in mind. I trust you to guide me every step of the way.
