A Prayer About Grace
A prayer about Grace
When I marvel at God’s grace
Merciful God,
Grace is one of the richest words you have given us in the Bible. It’s both a onetime act—the special favor you showed in giving me salvation through faith in Jesus—and a way of life—your ongoing work in me. I’m amazed when I think of all the blessings you’ve given me that I don’t deserve, and the punishment for my sins that you’ve withheld even though that’s what I do deserve. Words can’t express my gratitude for your grace! As the song says, “Amazing grace! How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; was blind, but now I see.” My heart is moved to share your mercy with those around me because I want others to know the acceptance and freedom you offer. May I be faithful to extend your grace to everyone I meet.
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Ephesians 2:8-9
