A prayer about Forgiveness

When I need to forgive someone

Merciful God,

I am struggling to forgive someone. I know that sometimes I must decide to forgive before the feelings of mercy will come. Help me always to remember that when I choose to forgive someone who has wronged me, I will be freed from the bitterness and resentment that can saturate my soul. As I release the hurt, you will heal me. May I not waste another moment, but forgive by your grace so that I can move past my hurt into the future you have for me.

Forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. Matthew 6:12
