A Prayer About Stubbornness

A prayer about Stubbornness

When my stubborn attitude is affecting my life

Father,

I need you to break through my stubbornness. Sometimes I am so set on my ideas that I don’t want to admit that your plan for my life might actually be better. Other times I get stuck in my refusal to believe that you really care or that you could even make a difference in my situation. I end up in a prison of my own stubbornness, not trusting you or even praying to you, and I can’t get out. Only you can change my heart. Help me to humble myself, Lord—to admit that you know the better path. Forgive me for my hardheaded determination to go my own way. Teach me to acknowledge your wisdom, your love, and your power, even when I can’t see them. Help me to give up my need to be right, and soften my heart toward you and others. May I never turn away.

Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God. You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God. For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ. Hebrews 3:12-14
