A Prayer About Destiny

A prayer about Destiny

When I wonder what’s in my future

Father God,

I hear the word destiny being used around me, usually meaning fate, or the purpose people are intended to fulfill. Your Word tells me that I have a destiny too—to share with you in all the wonders and comforts of your Kingdom forever. How amazing! Teach me to embrace this destiny and pursue it wholeheartedly. As I do, may I learn to set my priorities with eternity in view rather than on satisfying worldly desires. Purify my heart and my motives, and enable me to enjoy each day in your sustaining love. I’m thankful that I can live my life to the fullest with absolute confidence that death is not the end but only the beginning! No one can take me away from you. May this confidence give me meaning and hope as I persevere through the troubles of this life.

[Jesus said,] “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand.” John 10:27-29
