When I need affirmation

Heavenly Father,

You chose to create me in your image and to be in relationship with me. You have drawn me to yourself, even sacrificing your own Son to die for me. You have pursued me, rescued me from sin, and restored me! I am overflowing with thankfulness. When I am discouraged and need affirmation, remind me to read your words in the Bible and think about all you have done to show me how much I matter to you. When I realize how fully you value me, your love will break through the world’s lies that try to tell me what I ought to be. Then, with your help, I will become the woman you created me to be.

See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! . . . We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. 1 John 3:1, 16
