A Prayer About Deliverance
A prayer about Deliverance
When I need to experience God’s deliverance
Lord Jesus,
When I think about deliverance, I think about the things you did when you were on earth. You saved people from the spiritual oppression by demons, the physical oppression of disease, the intellectual oppression of false religion, and the injustice of abusive leadership. I need deliverance from my circumstances, too, but most of all I need the greatest kind of deliverance: deliverance from my sin. Because I believe in your sacrifice on the cross, I believe that you have delivered me from the penalty of my sin—eternal separation from you—and that you can also deliver me from the evil forces in this world that oppress me. I am overwhelmed by the scope of this salvation! My heart overflows with gratitude to you.
[Jesus said,] “The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the LORD’s favor has come.” Luke 4:18-19
