A prayer about Commitment

When I want to be fully committed to God

Father,

I long to be fully committed to you—to belong to you completely, never turning aside from your way or looking back at my old life. I know that being committed requires more than just saying I believe in something, that it involves giving my whole self—body and soul, including my mind, will, and emotions—to you for your use. I’m deciding to do that now, Lord. Please help me to follow up that decision with an act of my will. And may I follow through with determination regardless of the difficulty. I know this may be costly, but I want to be fully yours and glorify you with my life. Your Word tells me that you promise great blessings if I am faithful in my commitment to you.

Give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Romans 6:13
