A prayer about Admiration

When I want to be a woman that people admire

Father,

I want to be respected, and sometimes I’m tempted to try to demand that respect, especially from my family. But I know that’s not your way. What can make me a woman whom others admire? I know that the most admirable thing I can do is to reflect your love as I faithfully serve others. I can offer your gentle touch and demonstrate your love when I see them from your perspective and love them as you do. I long to be used by you in that way! Teach me that my desire for respect and admiration will be met when I see that others are experiencing you through me.

As a result of your ministry, [believers] will give glory to God. For your generosity to them . . . will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ. And they will pray for you with deep affection because of the overflowing grace God has given to you. 2 Corinthians 9:13-14
