A Prayer About Boredom

A prayer about Boredom

When I’m struggling with apathy

Father God,

Today I feel bored. My life sometimes falls into a mindless routine of doing the same tedious things over and over, whether it’s at my job, with my family, or around the house. I need a renewed sense of purpose. I know there is significant work I can do for your Kingdom, Lord. Please guide me to the right thing. I know that serving you will energize me and make me excited again about what I can do with my life. May I look for opportunities to help others, whether through volunteering in a local ministry, developing a new skill, or serving in a new way at church. That will give me something to look forward to each day. But even in the day-to-day routine, teach me to find meaning by doing my work for you. Even the most mundane task can please you when I do it with love and a servant’s heart. When I search for things that help me feel your pleasure, I know I’ll never be bored.

Let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Galatians 6:9
