A prayer about Blessings

When I want to experience God’s blessings

Lord God,

When I read your Word, I see a recurring principle: obedience to you brings blessing, and disobedience brings misfortune. Sometimes I think about blessings only in terms of material things, but I know that the greatest things you give are far more valuable than money or possessions. You bless me by giving me joy, peace of heart, spiritual gifts, family, friendships, and the confidence of eternal life. Oh, Lord, you have given me far more than I often realize. I can’t earn your gifts and I don’t deserve them, but you give them freely because you love me. Thank you! My heart overflows with gratitude, and that calls me to ever greater obedience. Guard me from straying away from what is right; keep me always close to you, in the center of your blessing.

The LORD God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. O LORD of Heaven’s Armies, what joy for those who trust in you. Psalm 84:11-12
