A prayer about Acceptance

When I ponder that God really accepts me

Heavenly Father,

Romans 3:23 makes it clear that every person on earth has sinned and fallen short of your standard. Nothing I could ever do would make me worthy of you. Yet the miracle is that you accept me as your child! Out of your great love, you gave your Son to die for me—before I was even born or had ever committed a sin. You have always been there, waiting for me to receive your forgiveness, and then you welcomed me into your presence! When I realize how fully you accept me, I am freed from the terrible burden of trying to earn your love. Thank you for this miraculous freedom. I am overwhelmed with praise and gratitude.

God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. 1 John 4:9-10
