A prayer for Direction - Knowing and following God’s plans

DEAR LORD,

I am unsure about what to do, which way to go. I have some good options for my life path, and I must make a choice. I need insight and wisdom; I need guidance; I need you. I love today’s verses because they promise a bright future. The passage is especially meaningful because, through the prophet Jeremiah, you were speaking to your people who were about to be taken captive in Babylon—terrible news. Yet you told them they could have hope—great news. Despite the bleak outlook, they could know that your plans for them were good. I trust you completely, Lord, because I know you are perfect, you love me, and you want only the best for me. Your path may involve hardships, but I would be foolish to choose any other. You told your people to look for you wholeheartedly, and that’s what I am doing. Please, show me the way . . . your way. I will follow.

“I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.” Jeremiah 29:11-13
