A prayer about Jesus - Letting him wash my feet

DEAR JESUS,

You knew the time was quickly approaching for you to be arrested, tried, tortured, and crucified; nails tearing your flesh as you bore the burden of sin, separated from the Father. You knew you had all authority and that you were God incarnate. You knew what the gathered disciples thought and what they would do. Yet knowing all this, you took water and a towel, knelt on the floor, and washed dirty feet. How you loved those men, Jesus—all of them. You washed the feet of greedy Judas, who would betray you, and of Peter, who would deny you. For each one, an act of humility and love! You know me, too, Savior, and you love me. Every day you wash my feet through your forgiveness, patience, and gifts. And you do this despite my betrayal, denial, and desertion. I am such a sinner, so undeserving, and so overwhelmed by your love. Thank you, Jesus.

[Jesus] got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him. John 13:4-5
