A Prayer About Worldliness

When I want to change my world

JESUS,

Your followers must live in the world to change the world, but you don’t want them to be of the world. That’s a challenge. Please give me courage to engage with my culture while keeping me “safe from the evil one.” I want to be different and to make a difference.

[Jesus prayed,] “I’m not asking you to take [my followers] out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. They do not belong to this world any more than I do.” John 17:15-16
