A Prayer About Direction
A prayer about Direction
When I wonder which path to take
DEAR LORD,
Over the years I have been in many discussions about how to know God’s will. And I’ve counseled others about that issue. So until recent events, I thought I had it covered. That is, I had a reasonable answer that seemed biblical. But now I have come to a fork in the road, a decision point, and I’m not sure which way to turn. The situation is one where I don’t have to choose between good and bad, because both paths seem good. So what should I do? Those who need to know my choice are pressing for an answer, Father. Thank you for giving me these options. But now I need direction. I want to follow your lead in all that I do, to honor you with my choices and attitudes, my words and deeds. I’ve prayed and thought about this decision, and I’ve sought the counsel of godly advisors. So unless you say otherwise, I will choose, knowing that you are guiding me, and will trust you for the outcome. Thank you, Lord.
Your own ears will hear [the LORD]. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left. Isaiah 30:21
