A Prayer About Truth

When I point people to the Savior

DEAR JESUS,

Many people today assert that absolute truth does not exist, that each person has his or her own—everything is relative. They may say, “Well, if that works for you, good, but it’s not for me.” Others believe in truth as a concept but don’t think anyone can know it or find it. Yet all are seeking answers, meaning, and purpose. Truth means reality, fact, certainty. A reliable standard allows us to know how far off we are, and these days society is way off the mark. You told the disciples that you are the Truth. Later you stood before the one who would condemn you to death and told him the truth. Those who know you are set free from error and sin and death, and they know what is true. O Savior, my heart aches for those who turn away. They have heard and seen the truth, but they reject it. Use me, I pray, to lovingly point them to you and break through their philosophical haze that wants to debate instead of believing in you.
