A Prayer About Risk

When I would rather play it safe

HEAVENLY FATHER,

I am impressed with the people of faith in the Bible who took great risks to obey you and to spread the Good News about Jesus. I confess that I often play it safe. Rather than risk conflict or ridicule, I deny you by my silence. I pray for courage, Lord, to stand for you.

All these people earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised. Hebrews 11:39
