A Prayer About Pride

When I begin to think too highly of myself

LORD JESUS,

Today I seemed to inject myself into every conversation, wanting to make sure that I got the credit I felt I deserved. How foolish! Forgive me. I want to be your humble servant, not one who is into self-promotion. Keeping my eyes focused on your nature and selfless sacrifice, Lord, gives me a true picture of myself and my place in your plan. I want to do your work, with your strength, to the best of my ability—for your glory, not mine.

Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. Proverbs 11:2
