A Prayer About Rescue
A prayer about Rescue
When I am in deep trouble
ALMIGHTY GOD,
I am mired in the quicksand of trouble and sinking fast. It feels as though everything is closing in, and try as I might, I can’t get out. Help me, I pray. I am desperate! You are all powerful, Lord, and can do anything. So please provide me your way out of this dilemma. Show me what to do and give me the strength to follow through. In the Old Testament I read about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who, as they were about to be burned alive, confidently told Nebuchadnezzar that you would rescue them. But that if you did not, they would die faithfully serving and worshiping you alone. Oh, may that be my attitude, Lord. I know you can rescue me, but if you choose not to, please help me accept your decision. More than anything, I want your will to be done and for my life to honor and glorify you.
If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up. Daniel 3:17-18
