A Prayer About Success

When I push to achieve

JESUS,

Solomon saw that “most people are motivated to success” but proclaimed it a meaningless pursuit. Lord, you told your disciples, who were eager to gain recognition and power, that the first would be last and that gaining the world is a waste of time. Shocking. Countercultural. But nothing compares to knowing you, Savior. Help me choose what is most important—being successful in pursuing you.

I observed that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind. Ecclesiastes 4:4
