A Prayer About Relationships

A prayer about Relationships

When I consider the people in my life

GRACIOUS HEAVENLY FATHER,

I am a social being because you created me that way. Adam had a perfect environment, but you proclaimed, “It is not good for the man to be alone”—and you gave him Eve. We need to love and be loved. Thank you, God, for all the people you have brought into my life. First, thank you for family—they have watched my growth and have nurtured, disciplined, served, and cheered me. Then, thank you for the gift of friends who accept, correct, and encourage me. Both groups love me, even though they know the real me, my weaknesses, mistakes, and all. And thank you for my Christian family, brothers and sisters who teach me, serve shoulder to shoulder with me, and hold me accountable to your Word. I have relationships with many others: coworkers, neighbors, teachers, merchants, and more. What amazing gifts—I am not alone! And I know you are using them to shape me into your kind of person. I want to be a great family member, friend, fellow believer, neighbor, and citizen. Help me.

The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.” Genesis 2:18
