A Prayer About Lust

When I begin to crave the things of the world

GOD ABOVE,

Please help me stay focused on you and your will. Too often I find my eyes and mind wandering, and I begin lusting after physical pleasure, money, power, achievements, or possessions. I know those are dead ends. I do not want to love the world, only you—first and foremost.

Do not love this world . . . , for the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away. 1 John 2:15-17
