A Prayer About Listening To God

When I need sensitivity to divine direction

LORD,

Sometimes I wonder how I can be so blind and deaf. Only later when I reflect on a day, week, or month do I see that—through a passage of Scripture, a word from a friend, or an event—you were trying to get my attention. I want to be sensitive to you, Lord. Open my ears, I pray, so I can hear your direction.

I listen carefully to what God the LORD is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways. Psalm 85:8
