A Prayer About Love For Believers

A prayer about Love For Believers

When I deal with other followers of Christ

LORD JESUS,

When I trusted you as Savior, I became part of your family, with millions of brothers and sisters worldwide. Your family spans millennia and includes men, women, boys, and girls of every race, nation, and culture. Even with our differences, we are unified through faith and by you. Yet at times I clash with believers close to home. Although we share nationality and characteristics, we conflict and clash in other areas. I know I am supposed to love them, all of them, but some bother me because of theology. With others the problem is their worship style. To be honest, I have the toughest time with people in my own congregation. At times I find a personality trait quite irritating. Often we have differences of opinion (and how to express them). And sometimes the issue is lifestyle choices. You told the disciples that the world should know we follow you by our love for each other. I pray for that ability. Change me, helping me to choose to serve them and making us truly one.

I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples. John 13:34-35
