A Prayer About Integrity
A prayer about Integrity
When I want to be known for honesty
DEAR LORD,
I want to be a person of my word, one who acts with honesty and integrity in all that I do, in every area of life. I certainly cannot do this on my own—I need you. So please do your work in me and through me. In my relationships, integrity means telling the truth, being loyal, and refusing to belittle or gossip. In my job, it means putting in a full day’s work for a day’s pay, having a positive attitude, and doing my best. In my finances, it means not cheating merchants or customers, telling the truth on my tax forms, and meeting my obligations. In my relationship with you, it means being totally transparent, honest, and vulnerable; following you fully and sincerely; fulfilling my promises; and keeping our communication lines open and clear. Everyone who knows me—relatives, friends, church members, coworkers, neighbors, and more—should know that my “no” means no and my “yes” means yes. They should understand by watching me in action that I belong to you. This is my prayer, Lord.
I know, my God, that you examine our hearts and rejoice when you find integrity there. 1 Chronicles 29:17
