A Prayer About Humility

When I begin to think too highly of myself

O GOD,

I did it again. Just when I think I’m making great strides in the Christian life, I stumble. This time pride knocked me down. I felt so good about what I had accomplished that I began to feel full of myself. And when I didn’t get credit, I pouted. Forgive me, Lord. Help me remember that my good works are for your glory, not mine. I want to be your humble servant.

You rescue the humble, but your eyes watch the proud and humiliate them. 2 Samuel 22:28
