A Prayer About Being Fearfully And Wonderfully Made
A prayer about being Fearfully And Wonderfully Made
When I see the miracle that is me
BLESSED CREATOR,
I am a miracle. I don’t say that in a prideful way, but I simply acknowledge your work in my life, from conception till now. You formed me, “knit me together,” made me what I am. Every baby is an amazing testimony to your presence in this world, your creativity, and your power. Eyes, ears, tiny fingers and toes complete with nails; the lungs, heart, and other internal organs; the brain and nervous system; and little cries, quivering lips, and flailing arms—everything is working at that grand entrance into the world as a new life is entrusted to parents. That child will eventually walk, run, sing, dance, swim, write, read, draw. I, too, am unique, and I am yours. When I consider my senses, my physical abilities, my mind—to think and create—and my emotions, I realize how wonderfully complex you made me. And the most profound truth—you created me in your image. I worship and adore you. I love you, my Creator, my Father, my Savior.
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. Psalm 139:13-15
