A Prayer About Everyday Miracles
A prayer about Everyday Miracles
When I see God working around me
JESUS,
I have fond memories of the great stories of the Bible where you intervened on behalf of your people, often using everyday people such as Noah, Moses, Joshua, Gideon, David, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Bible history is replete with miracles: victories, judgment, divine messages, provision, protection, prophecies, paths through swirling waters, fire from heaven, and more. And you calmed the storm; healed the sick, blind, and lame; walked on water; multiplied a child’s lunch to feed thousands; raised the dead; and exorcized demons, restoring broken lives and bringing hope to the multitudes. After your resurrection and ascent to heaven, you continued to empower the disciples. But because that happened so long ago, I tend to think that the age of miracles must have passed. If I keep my eyes and ears open, however, I’ll sense your miraculous work all around me: love, conception, birth, health, rescue, answered prayer, salvation—lives forever changed by grace through faith. Amazingly, you are working in me, and you allow me to participate in this work. Thank you, Savior.
[Jesus said,] “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.” John 14:12
