A Prayer About Envy

When I resent others for what they have

SOVEREIGN GOD,

To be honest, today I felt unsatisfied with my station in life. Not that I have it so bad, but then I saw what a couple of others had accumulated and accomplished. I became frustrated and felt cheated. The four-letter word for this condition is envy—and it’s sin. Forgive me, Lord. I am so grateful for what you’ve given me.

Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. . . . Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Psalm 37:1, 4
