A Prayer About Encouragement

When my spirits have been lifted by others

DEAR LORD,

Today I received an affirming, personal word from a friend. I was greatly encouraged. And the timing was perfect—I really needed those words. Thank you for the gift of my friend and the sincere message. You have told us to encourage one another. I want to be for others as my friend was to me—like Barnabas in the early church. Help me, Lord.

There was Joseph, the one the apostles nicknamed Barnabas (which means “Son of Encouragement”). Acts 4:36
