A Prayer About Discouragement
A prayer about Discouragement
When my losses pile up
JESUS,
No doubt about it—I am living and moving in a rut, following the unchanging route and routine with no end in sight. I seem to fight the same battles day after day without very much progress. Victories, small and few, are seldom won. So I continue to slog through the daily schedule, doing my best to meet my responsibilities, but it is tough. And lately this struggle has got me down and has been affecting my relationships—I confess that I am not too much fun to be around. I feel beaten, alone, and discouraged. I remember as a child joyfully anticipating a grand celebration, a family vacation, an extended visit from a beloved relative, summer camp, or a special event at church. These days, I feel as though I have nothing to look forward to, just another day of the same old same old. Please lift my spirits, Savior. I cling to the knowledge that you go ahead of me and are with me. Give me your hope and joy, I pray. I want to sing again.
Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my Savior and my God! Psalm 43:5
