A Prayer About Comfort

When I am grieving

PRECIOUS HOLY SPIRIT,

Sorrow consumes; grief overwhelms. Every minute today has been a struggle as I remember and consider the loss of one I held so dear. I feel empty and alone. I know the truth—that life is short and eternity awaits—but I hurt so much. Divine Comforter, right now I need you—desperately. Please wipe my tears. Hold me close. Help me get through this night and tomorrow. Give me hope.

Let your unfailing love comfort me, just as you promised me, your servant. Psalm 119:76
