A Prayer About Answers To Prayer

When I know God hears and cares

HEAVENLY FATHER,

Prayer is a normal part of my life, my daily routine. I pray often—in the morning, in church, in the evening (like now), in a quick response to the prayer chain, at meals, in difficulties, and many other times. I admit that most of my prayers are filled with requests, everything from healing for a friend to finding something I’ve lost. I can come to you anytime with my thoughts, feelings, worship, and requests because Jesus opened the way. Thank you, Lord. I am confident that you hear me, even when my prayers are simply silent, heavenward thoughts. And I know you answer my prayers, everything I think, whisper, or shout—big and small. The answers can be “no,” “yes,” or “wait”—but you do answer. I have experienced your yeses through the years, sometimes in dramatic fashion. Actually every breath is a gift, an answer to my prayer. You are amazing, God. I can hardly grasp the fact that you know me, love me, and care about me—and you listen and answer. Thank you, Father.
