Your Most Precious Commodity

When people want to become better, one of the first things they learn to do is budget their money. One of the next steps is learning how to budget and prioritize their time.

Why? Is it so they’ll have more peace and security from the pressures of the world? That’s certainly one good reason to do it. Just like one of the main reasons to accumulate wealth is to give more of it away, it is also one of the best reasons to prioritize your time.

More than money, time may be your most precious commodity. Your kid asks for a bigger allowance, but what he really needs is more time with you. You and your spouse would probably argue less about money if you invested more time in each other’s love accounts.

The more time you give to the things that matter, the richer your life will be.

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity. —Ephesians 5:15–16
