The Story Of Relationship

The Story of Relationship

God is the source of all relationship. He created the world for relationship. And so the story of the Bible is also the story of relationship.

The pages of Scripture speak of a God who desires to be present and intimate with you and to speak to you in your loneliness. He says such things as, “Do not be afraid, for I am with you,” and, “I will . . . walk among you and be your God, and you shall be my people.”

And all the other dynamics of relationship—the tenderness of a nurturing mother, the discipline of a protective father, the wonder of childhood, the sanctity of marriage, the pain of betrayal, the comfort of a friend during grief, the safety of family—these all can be found in the story of God’s relationship to man.

Who doesn’t like a good story? It’s His story. And it’s yours too.

To fall in love with God is the greatest of all romances; to seek Him, the greatest adventure; to find him, the greatest human achievement. —Augustine of Hippo
