The Beginning of Relationship

Every relationship has a beginning.

The butterflies fluttering in your stomach on a first date. Shaking hands with someone new and wondering if you’ll be friends. Holding your baby in your arms for the very first time.

The beginning of all relationship happened when God formed the world. His Spirit hovered over a lonely planet and affirmed its existence through words of creation. Even more intimately, He took man’s dusty form and tenderly breathed into him the breath of life.

In creating the heavens and the earth, God showed that He isn’t just some impersonal energy or all-pervasive force. He is a Person who exists for relationship, and He created you to begin a relationship with Him.

From the first chapters of your story, God has known you and has wanted you to know Him. If you don’t know Him, perhaps you can become friends.

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? —Psalm 42:2
