What are the dangers of resentment?

Job 5:2“Surely resentment destroys the fool, and jealousy kills the simple.”

Proverbs 27:3A stone is heavy and sand is weighty, but the resentment caused by a fool is even heavier.

1 John 3:15Anyone who hates another brother or sister is really a murderer at heart. And you know that murderers don’t have eternal life within them.

1 John 4:20-21If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.

Resentment is destructive for both the resentful person and the person who is resented. Resentment destroys relationships and strips us of joy.
