Why Didn’t Anyone Tell Me?
Why Didn’t Anyone Tell Me?
We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
1 John 1:3
Don’t you hate it when you look in the mirror and you notice a huge piece of spinach between your teeth from lunch five hours ago? You mentally retrace your steps and think of all the people who must have seen it but didn’t say a word! Why didn’t anyone tell me?! you wonder.
Or what if you were walking and talking with a friend, not paying attention, and—BAM!—you walked straight into a pole! Your friend had failed to point it out to you. As soon as you pick yourself up, you would ask, “Why didn’t you warn me?!”
If someone nearing the end of life asked, “Why didn’t you tell me about Jesus?” imagine how that person would feel. And what would you say? We live in a lost, broken, and hurting world, and we know that people can find purpose, wholeness, and healing in Jesus. If we don’t speak up, who will? You can make a difference in someone’s eternal future. Because you know what’s at stake, you can push past hesitancy, fear, or anything else that might keep you from sharing the life-changing news of your Savior.
Help me, Lord, to be winsome, wise, and genuine when I tell people about Jesus, my Savior, my Lord, my Redeemer, my King.
