Victorious Over The Past

Victorious Over The Past

We are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Romans 8:37

The apostle Paul knew trouble, hardship, persecution, famine, and danger, yet he declared that in all such circumstances God’s love made him a conqueror. Paul learned that he was defined not by the things that happened to him, but by his amazing, all-powerful, all-loving God. He made what God did for him bigger than anything anyone did to him—and that process made him a conqueror.

God has called you to be a conqueror too. He wants you to let go of the past—of the tough times, the disillusionment, the emotional pain. He wants you to let Him use what you went through and redeem it. He wants to make you stronger and to give others hope. He wants to increase your capacity for all of Him—compassion, wisdom, love, trust, maturity.

Let Jesus help you see that you are not defined by your past. You have a life beyond it—both here on earth and forever in His kingdom.

Let this hope of a better future give you the strength and courage you need to work through the pain and hurt you still deal with. Jesus is not content to let you simply survive your past; He has equipped you already to conquer it and live victoriously in the present.

Jesus, thank You for redeeming my life and my experiences by making them helpful for others. Please use me to help others conquer their past and live victoriously in the present.
